John Wilson Hargett JR. born in Scottsville Kentucky. He served in World War 2 and released two records for the local Cherry label in 1960. One of the songs was "Rock The Town Tonight" a primitive rockabilly number with only upright bass and guitar, the song sounds like it could have been recorded in 1955. The other record released consist of two Boppin Hillbilly songs "Dont Hang Out Your Red Light For Me" & "No One Will Ever Love You Like I Do". Johnnie passed away in 1968.
Cherry records is well known among Rockabilly fans for its pure and raw rockabilly music released between 1959-1960. Most rockabilly songs are very rural and sounds more like 1955 than 1960. Some of the singers who recorded for Cherry are Art Adams, Tommy Holmes, Judy Kapps & Toni.
